Beautiful, Jessica; thank you for the backstory.

My family regularly travelled to Florida for vacation, via car. That's how I fell in love with the South. Many years later, my parents retired to North Carolina. That's how I got to love the Carolinas. Then, more than 20 years later, I moved to Charleston, SC. That's how I got to love the SC Lowcountry of which I write today.

Traveling to NE New Mexico, did you ever come across Angel Fire, or Taos, or Philmont Scout Ranch?

I know Wolf Creek Pass and Blue Mesa. I have cousins in Clinton and Sayre, and more in Cloudcroft, and Silver Mountains. My father installed all tbe switchboards along Route 66 from Tucumcari amd Santa Fe to Las Vegas in the 1960s. I went to kindergarten at Tesuque Pueblo. Gorgeous country all of it.
